She is a reporter or multimedia journalist for three days a week.

In the year 2015, she worked at KWWL which is the NBC affiliate in eastern Iowa, for almost four years. The station covers news in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Dubuque, and Waterloo. Gilbert used to be the morning reporter for several years. Currently, she is the weekend morning news anchor. Furthermore, she also is a reporter or multimedia journalist three days a week.
