Emily Byrd Biography
Emily Byrd is an American journalist working as a meteorologist for WGHP FOX8 News. Emily experienced childhood in the Triad, moved on from North Carolina State University with a degree in Meteorology, and from UNC-Greensboro with a Degree in Fine Arts.
She worked at WXLV and WNCN prior to coming to WGHP. Whenever she isn’t working, Emily appreciates time with her for the most part amazing little girl, planting, sewing, and running.

Byrd started concentrating on the climate right off the bat throughout everyday life, watching and tuning in for rainstorms on the entryway patio. It was then that she fostered an interest in how the climate acts.
There was nothing else that she needed to do growing up than concentrate on the climate. Each evening at 6:16 p.m., she would leave the supper table to discover Frank Deal doing the climate on WGHP.
He generally had a report from “our man” and an amusing joke to share. Fred Blackman and Cynthia Smoot drove the report and Rich Brenner flagged the chance to return to the supper table and complete the process of eating.
Two youthful upstarts joined the group, Neill McNeill and Van Denton, and the inquiry at the forefront of Emily’s thoughts was “Are those actually their names?” Time has an awesome approach to addressing our inquiries, and in 2002 she had the pleasure of joining the group at WGHP.
It’s extraordinary amusing to walk similar corridors as individuals she grew up appreciating and to be a piece of the FOX 8 Family makes her work unquestionably fulfilling and satisfying.
